Friday Night Biathlon Series 2007/2008 - Event 10 - March 14th

Another great turnout for the last standard biathlon of the summer with the series points win still on the line. Excellent racing across the whole field but especially in the last wave with 5 club stalwards battling it out for key positions as well as all important double series points. Wally was first out of the water, the only one under 8 minutes, with a 28 second lead over Andrew and Sarah, with Martin a further 20 seconds back. Martin nabbed the fastest run split of the night, the only one under 15 minutes, but it wasn't enough to catch Wally or Andrew. A classic finish saw Andrew the winner by just 11 seconds with Wally beating Martin for second by only 2 seconds! Nev had the fourth fastest run of the night to keep himself in with a chance of catching Tony for the series win.

Sarah held on for the womens win with Allison running the fifth run split outright to take 2nd female home. Excellent to see so many families competing including the youngsters.

Series Results: Going into this last round Tony had a very healthy lead over Nev with Chris Curran making a late season run into third. Sarah and Gracinda were tied for the leading female spot. The points have been calculated and ... ... the biathlon series winners will be announced at HTC's presentation night in May!

Well done to everyone especially newcomers and youngsters. Thanks to all the volunteers for helping out with refreshments, timing, and keeping everyone safe out on the run course. Here are the full results.
