Postby Martin » Wed Feb 01, 2012 12:00 pm

Hi guys

Registration is open for the Port Mac 70.3 to be held on 28 Oct 2012.

Unfortunately, this is the same date as Nepean...so going to miss Nepean!

I registered last night.

It's starting to look like I'm your race stalker Martin, first Melbourne now Port Mac. Although, it is somewhat true, as I have no chance of ever finishing in front of you!

Stu

I am happy to see you race anytime.

Well done on Melbourne.

How have you pulled up?

Not too bad all things considered, there were a few sore spots (internal and external), but the biggest thing was a run-down, lethargic feeling for a few days, as if the body just needed sleep.

I've been for two runs, about 40 mins each at an easy pace, and I'd like to do a two hour bike this week, just a "spin", but haven't done anything else. Is this the right thing to do?

I'm caught between two mindsets: rest the body completely (but I don't know how long for); try not to lose the fitness nor put on weight (a major issue for me, as I think I still need to lose another 5Kg).

Any advice on recovery tactics are most welcome!

How about yourself?

Sounds familiar.

My coach basically continues the program but on reduced times and at an easy pace. The number of sessions do not change. It works well except when you throw in a touch footy match with all 20 somethings, then the body really complains!

Keep it going.
