Emiel at Kona

Hi HTC'ers

Emiel is hitting the big one this weekend and I thought I may share this review with you all.... Good luck Emiel

In 2008 Emiel Temmerman topped the scales at 100kg, before some photos of himself wakeboarding with his 'gut hanging out the bottom of the lifejacket' prompted Emiel to tackle triathlon. Emiel joined HTC in 2009 and, being stronger and speedier than at any other point his life, plans to stick with this great sport for some time to come. Emiel is driven to keep on doing triathlon to see what his capabilites are. With 3 IM's already under his belt, Kona will be his fourth after qualifying for the race at IM New Zealand in March this year. Being self employed has enabled Emiel to complete grueling 20hour training weeks, as well as the nagging fear which sits in many Kona athletes' minds, whether he can withstand the Kona conditions. Emiel plans to consume a large amount of savoury protein and fat calories on the DAK. Hopefully his other plan of floating in the ocean with the turtles will still be possible with all the protein on board. Not one for knocking back a challege, Emiel will be hitting the dirt tracks on his mountain bike after returning from Kona, as well as embarking on learning how to surf.
